LMS mini

Stationary remote laser methane detector for monitoring methane in ambient air

Efficient methane monitoring for large gas facilities

LMS mini is a reliable and effective tool for continuous automatic detection of methane in ambient air at methane-related industrial sites. Once installed, it continuously monitors an area with a 360 degree coverage and a standard detection range of 60 meters, which can be extended to 1 km if required. Designed for fully autonomous operation, it sends instant alerts the moment methane levels exceed safe thresholds, helping you respond quickly and keep your site safe.

LMS mini key features and advantages

  • Fully automatic

The system operates in unmanned mode and can be programmed to scan specific areas.
  • Dust and rain protection

All external LMS mini units meet the IP67 protection standard and safe from harsh weather conditions like rain, snow, or sandstorms.
  • Fast detection

Detects gas leaks faster than conventional methods. Detection time 0.1 sec.
  • Non-stop operation

LMS mini works 24 hours a day all year round.
  • Sensitive to methane only

LMS mini is finely tuned to detect methane and ignores other gases, providing accurate readings without false alarms.
  • Panoramic scanning capabilities

360 degree field of view without blind spots.
  • Full integration with existing facilities

LMS mini output alarms can be integrated into SCADA systems.
  • Complete database of operations

Monitoring results include a database of operational actions and archive data for the entire period of operation.
  • Calibration and self-check during operation

    To ensure accurate methane detection.
  • Explosion protection

    For operation in hazardous facilities.
  • Modular housing

Depending on your needs, LMS mini is optionally equipped with a video or infrared camera.
  • Versatile deployment

Can be installed anywhere using a telescopic mast.

How LMS mini works

LMS mini utilizes TDLAS technology

TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) is a technology that enables precise gas detection using a tunable diode laser. The laser emits a narrow beam of light at a wavelength that matches the absorption profile of the target gas. As the beam passes through the gas, some of the light is absorbed by its molecules. A sensor then captures the reflected light, and by analyzing how much was absorbed, the system determines the gas concentration.

Why leak detection matters

Continuous methane monitoring is essential not only for safety but also for environmental protection. Methane is one of the most potent greenhouse gases, trapping heat much more efficiently than carbon dioxide. Even small leaks, if undetected, can increase and have a serious impact on the climate. This is why 24/7 monitoring is important: it helps to detect leaks as soon as they occur, prevent dangerous situations and control emissions in accordance with environmental regulations.
