LM100M
Handheld Explosion‑Proof Laser Methane Detector

Handheld TDLAS-based laser methane detector for remote detection at distances of up to 30 m. The device features IP65 protection, Ex certification, and Bluetooth data sharing for field operations.

LM100M In Brief

Sometimes inspections require a tool that is both powerful and portable, especially when detecting methane or natural gas leaks in the field. The LM100M meets this need. It detects methane from up to 30 meters away using reliable TDLAS technology, allowing operators to inspect hard-to-reach areas without approaching the source. The device is explosion-proof and supports Bluetooth data logging and transfer. With its long detection range and user-friendly operation, the LM100M helps teams work safely and efficiently during routine and emergency inspections.

How LM100M works

The LM100M uses TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) technology to provide precise methane detection with a tunable diode laser.
  • Step 1
The laser emits a narrow beam of light at a wavelength that matches the methane absorption profile.
    01
  • Step 2
As the beam passes through the gas, some of the light is absorbed by the methane molecules.
    02
  • Step 3
The laser beam is reflected off the ground or other surfaces.
    03
  • Step 4
The sensor captures the reflected light.
    04
  • Step 5
The system calculates the methane concentration by analyzing how much light is absorbed.

Why methane detection matters

Methane monitoring, especially in urban areas, is essential not just for safety, but also for protecting the environment. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, trapping heat much more effectively than carbon dioxide. Even small leaks, if left undetected, can grow and seriously impact the climate. Regular monitoring helps detect leaks early, prevent dangerous situations, and control emissions in accordance with environmental regulations.
