The AXION Cooled series features compact cooled thermal imaging modules designed for seamless integration into modern surveillance systems and thermal imaging platforms. Available in several configurations, these modules offer a ready-to-use solution with advanced onboard image processing and straightforward power and video connections. Each module uses a cooled InSb detector that delivers excellent long-range performance with 640×512 MWIR imaging, providing clear, detailed thermal imagery even in demanding conditions.

What Is DRI?
DRI stands for Detection, Recognition, and Identification. It describes three levels of detail that can be distinguished in a thermal image, from detecting an object to recognizing its type and identifying it in greater detail.

AXION Cooled is a series of compact cooled thermal imaging modules designed for integration into surveillance systems and thermal imaging platforms. The modules use a cooled InSb detector and operate in the MWIR spectral range.
AXION Cooled is designed for medium- and long-range thermal surveillance. Typical applications include border and perimeter security, maritime and port surveillance, airport monitoring, airborne observation, and other systems that require long-range thermal imaging.
AXION Cooled is available with several lens configurations. The series includes 275Z, 300Z, 420Z, and 850Z models with focal lengths from 18 mm to 850 mm. You can choose a configuration based on the required field of view and observation range.
Detection, Recognition, and Identification (DRI) describe different levels of target assessment at a given distance. Detection means that an object can be detected, Recognition means that its type can be determined, and Identification means that sufficient detail is resolved for more specific identification.
Yes. AXION Cooled provides PAL, NTSC, and Camera Link video interfaces, as well as RS-232 and RS-422 control interfaces for system integration.
Yes. The module features motorized autofocus with selectable focus area size. The autofocus area can be selected according to the required observation conditions.
AXION Cooled includes automatic and manual gain and brightness control, selectable AGC modes and response speed, automatic image correction, digital detail enhancement, sharpness adjustment, image flip, electronic crosshair, multiple image palettes, freeze frame, and up to 8× digital zoom.
AXION Cooled operates from a 24 V DC power supply. The specified operating voltage range is 20–32 V.
The specified operating temperature range is -30 to +55 °C.
